It’s the most wonderful time of the year. As the song goes Christmas is a special time of year, with opportunities to dress up, exchange gifts, party, and taste the finest food and drinks.
But too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. Too many late nights and alcohol can lead to fatigue, weak immunity, and stinky colds. Too much rich food can play havoc with our digestive system. Too much time with loved ones… well I’ll let you fill in that blank.
That’s before the travel, early morning flights, uncomfortable pillows, and in-laws with interesting political viewpoints!
We believe that you can have a fulfilling Christmas and manage to avoid the negative impacts that can occur. However, there is a price to pay for that though. And that price is the discipline of a stress management strategy. Being disciplined around sleep, exercise, alone time, or vitamins can enable you to succeed and get the best of both worlds this Christmas.
Massage can be one such stress management strategy to help you to become Christmas resilient. A pre-Christmas massage session can reduce your stress levels – enabling you to cope easier with stressful travel or family life. It can also flush out the Christmas party toxins by doing a good old fashioned lymphatic cleanse. Stiff necks and shoulders can easily be released through deep tissue massage to allow for a relaxed state to deliver high quality sleep.
A good Christmas can really top up your soul, especially now that many of us are seeing family and friends for the first time in yonks. Heightened emotional states can elevate us to set ambitious New Year resolutions, and boy after these two years 2022 deserves to be a good one.
Consider scheduling a massage early in the New Year to get the traction needed to stay the course for your new year to be. A positive mental attitude and physical health are top of the riches of life and regular massage is known to support you in both of those aspects.
The biggest problem that our clients report this time of the year is time. Many have such a congested diary and busy schedule that they are reluctant to put more commitments into their diary. Even the good commitments!
Make sure you wise up this year and plan for catch up sleep, exercise, and massage. It could set you apart from the crowd and set you up for a bright and prosperous 2022.
Merry Christmas from everyone at The Massage Centre
