Have you always lived in Chiswick?

I’ve been in Chiswick 10 years.

What’s your favourite local restaurant?

Azou, a North African restaurant in Ravenscourt Park.

What are you most grateful for in life?

I’m grateful that I live in a country that has the NHS, the Welfare State and the Human Rights Act.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

Several good pieces of advice: stand up for anyone who doesn’t have a voice, be someone who says yes not no, have a sense of humour.

We’ve always loved your art. What do you think gets captured in your portraits?

In my portraits I try to capture the soul of the animal or bird in question.  I want to remind people that these creatures are vulnerable to harm and it’s important to both protect and nurture them as well as enjoy the pleasure they can give.

Who is your favourite artist?

William Kentridge: a South African artist who works across all media and is highly political

If you could get any two artists from history to collaborate on a piece of art who would you choose?

William Kentridge and Louise Bourgeois would make a pretty powerful statement if they pooled their artistic resources. Politics, the state of the world, the female condition.

If you could save one endangered species which one would you choose?

There are so many endangered species, many of whom are animals and birds we know and love. Humpbacks, Grey whales, rhinos, elephants, tigers, cuckoos, pied flycatchers, the list is depressingly long and we as humans are largely responsible.

Many coaches receive coaching themselves, do you have someone in your life who helps you find the best in yourself?

I have a supervisor for my work and I belong to a peer supervision group, so I get to talk through my client work and get valuable feedback and advice.

Be a Professor of Zoology and Anthropology

How do you celebrate your wins?

I think I’m just pleased and relieved when something goes well
